New Political Movement Emerges in Udu, Targets Unity and 2027 Electoral Victory
A new political movement, Unique Sound Minds Initiative (USMI), is set to be launched in Udu Kingdom, positioning itself as a unifying force aimed at reshaping the local political landscape and mobilising grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group, described as a political pressure organisation, is founded on the principles of unity, mass mobilisation, and collective political alignment. With the motto “One People. One Purpose. One Voice,” the Initiative seeks to bridge divisions within the political class and channel the aspirations of the people into a cohesive and actionable agenda.
A Call for Unity and Credible Leadership
In its charter, USMI expressed concern over what it described as a “fractious political class” that has hindered Udu’s development. The group emphasized its commitment to fostering dialogue among political leaders, promoting consensus, and advancing issue-based politics centered on the needs of the people.
“The time has come to move beyond division and focus on collective progress. Our mission is to unite Udu under a common purpose and ensure that leadership reflects the true will of the masses,” the statement read.
Clear Political Direction

It further assured transparency in its funding, which will be sourced from membership dues, lawful donations, and grants, subject to annual audits.
Membership is open to all indigenes and residents of Udu aged 18 and above, regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity, or religion, provided they align with the group’s vision of peaceful advocacy and unity.
